PARANAQUE CITY – PATTS College of Aeronautics did not disappoint their home fans by coming out with a smashing 90-77 conquest of visiting De La Salle University-Dasmarinas on Day Two of the 25th Sta. Lucia Land National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) games Friday (December 8). The Seahorses fired up their engines early and had enough zip left in the end to hold on to the win.
John Reed set the tone early by notching 11 of his 13 points in the opening period and got help from team captain Joshua Diaz and substitute Norman Torreno for an eye-popping 34-16 lead. The Seahorses’ scoring pace tapered a bit but they still managed to stretch their margin to 27 markers, 85-58.
Suddenly, the Patriots retaliated with an 18-0 run capped by a rare four-point play by Pacholo Loor to threaten with 1:40 to play, 76-85. The rally though fell short as Torreno delivered the dagger on an offensive tip-in with just under a minute to play, 89-76.
Rookie Torreno led the Seahorses with 21 points and seven rebounds. Diaz was next with 19 points and five assists.
John Cantimbuhan topped the Patriots with 20 points and seven rebounds. He was supported by Jenesis Remonte with 15 points and nine rebounds.
